The Essential Guide to Adult Social Care

Dudley Council has developed the Essential Guide to Adult Social care: an easy-to-understand on line course and resource in which we explain what we mean by ‘social care’ as well as other support and services to help you choose what’s right for you and your circumstances. This course will also help you better understand and navigate the council's adult social care web pages.  A series of information booklets have been produced to accompany this on-line course.

Awareness

A key theme of the resource above is that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Safeguarding is also something that requires extremely sensitive handling. With this in mind, dramatised video scenarios have been used to show how safeguarding issues can develop, and to suggest ways of dealing with them that protect people at the same time as preserving their right to make choices about their lives.
